Barbara Haesler DVM, PhD is a Senior Lecturer in Agrihealth at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) and the London Centre for Integrative Research on Agriculture and Health. She is a veterinary researcher with expertise in food systems, economics applied to animal health and One Health, animal health surveillance, and evaluation. Her research focuses mainly on livestock and fish food system change and the implications in terms of foodborne and zoonotic disease, food and nutrition security, and sustainability. Her research includes poultry, ruminant, pig and aquaculture food systems in Europe, Africa and South-east Asia. She teaches on various undergraduate and postgraduate courses at RVC and is the local lead for the programme Interdisciplinary Food Systems Teaching and Learning, a cross-university learning initiative on food systems.
